Koni Shock Absorbers

Koni is a renowned manufacturer of hydraulic shock absorbers and suspension systems with a great experience gained during more than 150 years. Koni offers technical solutions for a wide range of segments – from passenger cars to trains and industrial applications like bridges. Besides, they are used in severe conditions, including freezing poles and the hot Sahara desert. Koni shocks and suspension systems have been well-known in the world of motorsports since the 1950s. The first team to collaborate with Koni was Ferrari.

Koni was established by A. de Koning back in 1857. In its early years, the company manufactured leather equipment for horses. The first shock absorbers (friction type) were produced by Koni before World War II. The production of telescopic shock absorbers began after the end of the war. In the 1950s, the company entered the racing world, particularly, Formula 1. In 1971, Koni achieved the first win in the World Championship.

Nowadays, apart from Koni sport shocks for rally and racing cars, the company produces a wide variety of other products for many applications. For instance, Koni suspension components are found in buses, trucks, trailers, and railway rolling stock. Koni yellow shocks are popular with high-performance and off-road enthusiasts, the same also concerns Koni coilovers and Koni struts. And the list is not over yet. In 1972, Koni became part of ITT, a global industrial company with employees in more than 35 countries. A huge experience combined with advanced technologies allow Koni to stay among the leaders of the industry for decades.
