The Porsche 718 Cayman serves as an introduction to the Porsche lineup. However, that doesn't mean its performance and driving dynamics are compromised in any way. The Cayman is every bit a Porsche sports car, with outstanding handling capabilities expected from the marque. Its mid-engine layout allows for incredibly balanced dynamics, improving the nimbleness provided by sport-tuned chassis. The 718 Cayman is a capable performer and an eye candy in its factory condition, but we know how important customization may get. We've gathered a sizable selection of 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman accessories and parts that will help you personalize your car. And sure, regular maintenance and in-time repairs are paramount, so we can supply you with high-quality replacement parts and fluids that will keep your car performing as great as it's designed to.
The 2022 718 Cayman is available exclusively as a rear-wheel-drive two-seat coupe. Buyers can choose from five trim levels, but even in the base form, the Cayman is fast and thrilling. The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four that powers the base model and the Cayman T makes 300 hp and is capable of moving the car to 60 mph in as little as 4.9 seconds. The S model gets a more potent 2.5-liter 350-hp horizontally-opposed boxer four-cylinder. The GTS 4.0 and track-focused GT4 boast a 4.0-liter flat-six, which churns out 394 hp or 414 hp, respectively. Engine power is sent to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed dial-clutch automatic, with both being slick-shifting transmissions. All but the lowest-priced models come with the Sport Chrono package as standard, which offers extra driving modes, launch control, a clock, and distinct sport seats, among other upgrades.
Porsche has pulled the wraps off the track-ready 2022 Cayman GT4 RS, and the big news is that it is powered by the 4.0-liter flat-six taken directly from the hardcore 911 GT3. That mighty boxer is mechanically unrelated to the unit that powers the non-RS GT4; the GT3-sourced six-cylinder makes a respectable 493 ponies and 331 lb-ft of torque and can spin to a 9,000-rpm redline. It can launch the car to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and on to a 196 mph top speed. Matching those horsepower levels and ensuring faster lap times is a 7-speed PDK, with no option for a stick. Porsche has taken 49 pounds off the RS thanks to a carbon fiber reinforced plastic hood and fenders and the use of weight-saving materials for some of the components. The downforce is up 25 percent, too, resulting from an abundance of aero bits. The GT4 RS features a modded exhaust and a revised suspension system that drops the car by one inch.
The 718 lineup adopts the timeless styling theme of the 911 Series, while featuring a variety of design elements and accessories that set it apart. This year, the Cayman expands its customization opportunities with new colors added to the palette. It can be further improved and tailored to your taste with countless 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman parts and accessories available in our store. The car accommodates two people in comfort and features easy-to-use, intuitively-placed controls for the driver to concentrate on the road or race track. On the downside, storage is on the small side, while most of the safety features that are normally standard these days are on the options list. But to be honest, these drawbacks are fairly common for the class and won't become a deal breaker for the driving enthusiast.
Want to make your 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman one of a kind, keep it running at its peak, or turn it into a high-powered beast? Our vast selection of premium accessories and parts ticks all the boxes. Quality is at the heart of everything we do at CARiD, so whatever your project, our brand name products and qualified experts will ensure success. Class. Luxury. Durability. We have it all, and we're always here with everything you need to keep your 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman in tip top shape, inside and out.
