For 2018, Porsche has expanded its 718 Boxster lineup with the addition of the GTS version. The 2.5 L flat-four used by the new model features an optimized turbocharger and new intake plenum that allow for an increase of 35 hp over the preceding generation of the Boxster GTS, now delivering 365 hp. A 6-speed manual is standard for this car, while a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is offered as an option. Models fitted with the latter develop more torque – up to 317 lb.-ft. Dual-clutch equipped versions of the 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster accelerate faster, reaching 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, while manual models hit this mark in 4.4 seconds.

As the line-topping model, the new 718 Boxster GTS comes with a number of standard performance features that are optional on other versions. They include a sport exhaust, torque vectoring, Sport Chrono Package, corporate PASM system reducing the ride height, and Sport Seats Plus. Besides, the model also offers some distinctive styling features like a unique front fascia, tinted tail lights and front indicator lights, black 20” wheels, and more. Other representatives of the 718 Boxster lineup carry over for the 2018 model year.

The base 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster employs a 2.0 L turbo flat-four, while the S variant comes with a larger 2.5 L F4 under the hood. The power output of the standard engine is rated at 300 hp, while the larger one generates 350 hp. Besides, the latter is the only mass-production gasoline engine to use VTG technology. Gearbox options are similar to those of the new GTS model, being a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base 718 Boxster can attain a 170 mph top speed; the S variant is slightly speedier with its 177 mph, while the new GTS can accelerate to 180 mph. All versions come with Bi-Xenon headlights and a pair of integrated LED DRLs. Tail lights feature 3D LED technology along with 4-point brake lights.
